Kimberly Brown, APRN, FNP-BC, is a family nurse practitioner specializing in Pulmonology at UT Health East Texas. She believes in caring for her patients in the same way she would want her family to be treated. “I like to treat all of my patients like they are my family or good friend. I want them to understand their disease process and any treatments that they are undergoing and I want them to share in joint decision making. I want them to feel safe and that they can ask me any questions that they have about their care,” she said.
Primarily she provides care for patients as adults, but can see children as well. It is important to Kim that her patients to feel that I am truly interested in them as a person. “I wanted to be a nurse for as long as I can remember and really enjoy helping others. I enjoy learning the body processes regarding disease and medication treatment.”
When not treating patients, she enjoys crafting, being outside, animals, nature and growing flowers. She also has a now role as an apiarist, “I am a new honeybee keeper.”

Dr. Brown is one if not the best doctor. Extremely knowledgeable in her field and very compassionate. Wish I could clone her to be my other doctors 😊.

So appreciate the care I received from Dr. Brown and her team (Anna!). Patient, super-competent, efficient...good sense of humor and very personalized care.
One callout, beyond Dr. Brown's control: hospitals will bring in an anesthesiologist to support a procedure that requires it. I believe the facility arranges this separately and that doctor/service may have a different insurance setup. I believe Ascension Seton should be responsible for this communication...but the end result, for me, was a nasty surprise in billing...

Dr. Kimberly Brown Doctor/Surgeon. I had a cancerous colon tumor removed along with some suspicious looking lymph nodes. When I first met with Dr. Brown I immediately felt comfortable with her and her team. She is warm, compassionate and is a very good listener. She also is plain speaking and frank. She answered every question I had, I never felt rushed. I wish she were my Primary Care Physician. I don't think I have ever felt more confidence in a Doctor. My surgery was on time, successful, with a lot less pain than I had imagined. I was treated with respect and tender care. I highly recommend Dr. Brown and all of her team
